Rule of Law (Trailer)

Ben Ferencz is the last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg Trials. At 96, Ben takes us on a reflective journey back to the war, the concentration camps, liberation and most importantly, the trials. According to Ben, this was a sampling of justice because there could be no sentence equal to the loss during genocide. Ben’s manifesto is law, not war.

Homeless: In the Rhythm of Life Passing by…

Homeless In The Rhythm Of Life Passing By is a documentary I entered into a film contest at Cinema Paradiso entitled “Movies Of Our Lives.”  It was sponsored by Funding Arts Broward, The Knight foundation and The Broward County Film Society.  The film was to be no longer than three minutes and had to be about Broward County.  I chose to have the homeless be my subject because as I traveled back and forth on Broward Blvd., I kept seeing all these people gathered in front of the library.  I wondered what a day was like for someone who had no home, no job, very few choices.  The visuals would tell the story, hence the title, and the street noise would be the sound track.  My homeless collaborators welcomed me into their circle and a mutual respect was born.  The most outstanding lesson I learned about the homeless, is the tremendous sense of community they share among themselves.  Back to the contest…Homeless In The Rhythm Of Life took first place and won $500. The money was great but the validation of my project was priceless. I shared the proceeds with my homeless collaborators.
